TECHNOLOGY CHANGES AT DUNALASTAIR 
 

 

As of this year, Dunalastair has been putting new and innovative software and management systems in place, that should greatly help in our daily tasks.

As well as updating our website, we have created a School Management System, that will cover both academic and financial tracking.

 

The School Management System (SMS) is fed by our teachers and administration with information related to attendance, grades, and conduct.  Apart from the obvious advantage of the School improving its information systems, pupils and parents will be able to access this information too.

 

The system allows us to have a permanently updated database of our pupils and parents or guardians, as well as up-to-date information related to current account and space for communication and for collaborative teaching and learning.

 

Our teachers have been trained in its use, and have been very positive about its user friendliness.

In order to make the best possible use of this system, we not only invested in seven new servers on which to run it, but also bought new computers for teachers, and for the library and computer labs.  For both campuses (Las Condes and Chicureo) a total of 45 desktop computers, 32 notebooks, 17 projectors and 96 17” flat-screen monitors were bought, which means we now have over 200 computers available for our school community.
