Last Friday, October 29, was the official launching of our school’s recycling campaign.
In front of both Infant and Junior school, the aspects involved in this campaign were communicated to every member in our community. The objectives are to develop a caring behaviour towards the environment and to encourage its protection. In this way, the PYP profile that characterizes our school, is developed by not only looking for academically improved knowledge but also for the caring of our planet.
The teachers developing this activity are Mr. Juan Carlos Krause, Mr. Teobaldo Díaz, Mr. Alvaro Espinoza and Miss Carolina Wolf. They count on the support given by Miss Marcia Moreno (administrator) and a monitoring team that includes 7th grade students. These students are Javiera Echeverría, Lucas Vial, Benjamín Rothmann, Matías Alvial, Benjamín Scheihing, Rashid Díaz, Alani Sanzana, Trinidad Colomes and Catalina Hidalgo. They will work supervising the recycling process, evaluating, reinforcing and motivating permanently their younger classmates in the school, so that the campaign works the best way possible and it makes Dunalastair Chicureo a much more united and collaborative community. |

The beginning of the recycling campaign considers the recycling of plastic and paper produced in the school. At this point, the RRR theory of recycling takes place: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. As long as children understand and apply these three steps, the recycling process becomes efficient and interesting for them. Our parents can make this campaign more efficient by doing the same at home. This will make our children more conscious of their environment in order to enjoy, in the future, a cleaner and healthier planet. |
