One of the objectives of Special Needs Department is to support our students in several ways. To achieve this, one the main interventions is the coordination and implementation of the Personal Skills Program (PHP: Programa de Habilidades Personales).

This program´s objective is to promote the mental health of our students, giving special emphasis in stimulating and empowering the social and emotional development of our children.

The PSP is organized in units. Each one of these is divided in workshop sessions with specific objectives, depending on the stage of development that the child is in.

The first unit is Integration, based on the fact that one of the basic needs of the human being is to feel part of a social group. The sense of belonging to groups, like family, friends, work and school gives self satisfaction and the possibility of building a strong identity.

The purpose of this unit’s activities is to generate instances for the students to get to know each other and share experiences as a group. This unit facilitates the integration of new students and those who have been mixed up and the achievement of a good social environment within class groups.

Nowadays every class is working on the activities of this unit.
