BOOK WEEK INFANT 2011

The week of May 23rd to May 27th Infant School celebrated “Book Week". Our students, along with their teachers, carried out a number of activities.

Kinder students learnt about tales' collections specially from authors such us Eric Carle with his tales “From head to toe”, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, “The Mixed Up Chamaleon”, among others, and also from Laura Nimeroff with her collection “If you…..". The students also created characters during their Arts activities, learnt about the structure of tales and stories and correct usage. Each child brought his/her favorite tale and told it to their classmates.

Pre-Kinder students read tales during the whole week, which they represented in beautiful drawings.  They also learnt a poem.

Playgroup students read traditional tales such us “The Little red Riding Hood”, “Goldilocks and “The Three Bears”, among others. They also worked on the tale “The Little Cloud” from Eric Carle during craft activities.

We finished “Book Week" with a special day where all students came to school dressed in costumes as tales' characters. This is how our Infant School was filled with Snow Whites, Cinderellas, and Captains Hook, who to the rhythm of movie songs like Little Mermaid, Tarzan and Lion King, etc. participated in a happy and colorful parade.
