Our first celebration of the International Book Day started with Pablo Neruda’s verses. During March and April, the Spanish Department organized the reading and analysis of only one text from 1st Grade to 4th Upper. Of all books in literature, one of the most cherished is The Little Prince, which can be our companion while growing up and support us in every stage of our lives.

The 1st graders, listened to the book which was read by their teachers, and their parents were in charge of keeping a logbook which went from house to house gathering their own experience regarding the reading of The Little Prince. The 2nd graders answered questions, the 3rd graders created newspapers, the 4th graders will be showing us soon their work, the 5th graders interviewed the characters, the 6th graders did acrostics and caligrams, the 7th graders wrote poems and the 8th graders interviewed the “famous ones".

The Seniors organized the interviews, prepared the visual material, painted, did sculptures and were in charge of the event. The 7th graders had an outstanding participation in the poetry competition and we congratulate the winners.

                3rd Place:  Irina Betti

                2nd Place: Josefina Queirolo

1st Place:  Daniel Colvin

We thank all of those who participated in this project, since we know that for at least one month, the whole Dunalastair community was in tune with one book; for some, reading it for the first time as adults, for others, for the first time as children. Without doubt, for everyone, the always gratifying experience of reading a book.
