This is the first time we have had an exhibit of this sort at school. The project was led by the Science Department, and students from Year Five to Year Twelve organised and participated in the event. Four subjects were represented: Natural Science, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
The goal was to show the entire school community what our students were doing in science, by means of concrete projects in which they re-created experimental work and demonstrated appication of technology in science. They had a month in which to prepare their projects.
On the day itself, all four science labs were used, and a room was specially prepared to project a video on the effects of smoking on the human body. At the same time, IB Group 4 projects were exhibited in the school’s main hall. This included both 2008 and 2009 projects, on the funiculars of Valparaiso, and the Río Clarillo National Reserve.
