Dunalastair believes in allowing children to explore areas of interest that go beyond those explored formally in the classroom. A varied extra-curricular offering is the best way in which this can happen, and a broad menu of activities such as drama, arts and crafts, ballet, soccer, and extra-training, amongst others. Students are offered a variety of activities each semester, taught by members of the school staff or external specialists.

This year we have built time for personal study into the timetable for all students from years 1 to 6 (four periods in years 1 to 4, and 2 periods in years 5 and 6). During these periods students will work on a personalised plan, supervised by their form teachers, that will allow them to address areas in which they may need to do extra work to catch up, or others in which their interests or aptitudes would allow them to develop further.
